In Mark 12:38–44, Jesus contrasts proud scribes who use religion to gain attention and exploit the vulnerable with a poor widow who quietly gives all she has. God sees beyond appearances: He judges hypocrisy and delights in faith that entrusts everything to Him.

Who is Jesus? In Mark 12:35–37, Jesus presses the crowd beyond a partial understanding of the Messiah. He is David’s son, but He is also David’s Lord—the divine Son who died for sinners, rose in victory, and now reigns at the Father’s right hand. Join us as we consider what it means to confess that Jesus is Lord and live like it is true.

In Mark 12:28–34, Jesus answers a scribe’s sincere question by naming the greatest command: love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. The sermon confronts the danger of being near the kingdom through knowledge while still failing to receive Christ as King.

The Sadducees tried to make resurrection look ridiculous, but Jesus revealed the real problem: they did not know the Scriptures or the power of God. Mark 12 calls us away from selective belief and toward humble trust in God’s Word.

In Mark 12:13–17, Jesus exposes a trap set by the Pharisees and Herodians and refuses their false choice between Caesar and God. The coin may bear Caesar’s image, but every person bears God’s image. Therefore, Christians can live faithfully under earthly governments while belonging fully to Christ.

Jesus’ parable of the wicked tenants in Mark 12 exposes Israel’s corrupt leaders, who rejected God’s prophets and were preparing to kill His beloved Son. Yet the rejected Son would become the cornerstone of God’s new-covenant people.

What happens when pride and fear of people matter more than truth? In Mark 11:27–33, Jesus exposes the religious leaders’ attempt to trap Him—and reveals the deeper problem in their hearts. Join us as we see Christ’s authority, wisdom, and sovereignty, and consider what may be keeping us from fully submitting to Him.

What if your life looks spiritually full—but is actually empty at the root? In this passage, Jesus confronts the danger of outward religion without inward faith. Through the fig tree and the temple, He shows us that real faith is what produces real fruit—and invites us into a deeper, living dependence on Him.

What if the Jesus you’re celebrating isn’t the real Jesus? In this passage, the crowd shouts “Hosanna,” but their expectations are misplaced. Jesus comes not as a political conqueror, but as a humble Savior. This sermon calls us to examine whether we’ve received Christ as He truly is—or reshaped Him into someone more comfortable.
